Hot August Nights...PART 1.

The weather in August has a lot to answer for. Whilst we were all desperately dreaming of the hot sun on our skin and begging for a change of temperature and wondering whether Spring would actually break this bad run of rain and cloud hanging over our city I decided I couldn't bare it a second longer.

My Trusty eager friend Vraja in tow we high tailed it out of the Sydney gloom, with a couple of cotton dresses, a bikini and a toothbrush to the hot, dusty, sweetly scented misty air of Bali , Indonesia

Lets call it a work/play research trip shall we?

We found our hot August nights waiting patiently for us in a quiet little hideaway in Legian where we got our bearings upon a trusty 50,000rp a day ( approx $5 )scooter and that was it. Sydney was far, far away.

An almost lost visa card or 2, a left behind in a shop (OMG! how much is that silk dress?) mobile phone, we were so excited we couldn't think straight. So after a day of sunning our pasty white sydney asses and eating freshly peeled pinapple and coconuts on the beach we bartered our little hearts out, got ourselves a little Suzuki Jimny and hightailed it up to the love, peace and mung beans that is Ubud.

Did someone say food??? Amazing!!  We basically ate our way across Indonesia, often opting for an early breaky out and returning to our hotel for breakfast #2  a local wurung (traditional indonesian eating house ) for lunch and somewhere equally delicious for dinner. For the food alone. I would happily live in Bali.

Vraja and I were in Bali to not only indulge in a little R&R but to find ourselves a place to hold a retreat. So off we scooted in search of bliss so we can bring a group of you fabulous people here to enjoy the same.

Please know that in the name of  "research" we had to endure, massage after massage, reflexology foot massages, manicures, pedicures, hot stone treatments, tarot readings, hot oil baths, hair washings, healings, Chakra cleanses... ahh It was tough!

We did it though. We managed to keep our wits about us, endure the research, sampled a few alcoholic beverages along the way to help us out and we have managed to put together what we think is a wonderful 5-7 day retreat in the beautiful surrounds of Ubud.

Stay tuned for dates and details of our retreat. COMING SOON.

I have to run now but will post part 2 of our HOT AUGUST NIGHTS BALI ADVENTURE SOON.

An typical afternoon in Bali
