Sydney shows off ...

Centenial Park Sydney, May 2011

Autumn in Sydney is certainly putting it's best foot forward. The early morning chill in the air gives you a teaser for what lies ahead for Winter, then suddenly the sunshine finds it's way up, up into the sky to bestow it's lovely warmth. Cups of steaming hot chai in the mornings is my new favourite thing, I have given up my daily ritual of coffee to replace it with a healthier, but just as delicious treat. It's part of my cleanse and detox program I am doing for Autumn.

On a spiritual note, Autumn is having a beautiful effect on me.  As is the nature of Autumn in stripping everything back, letting go of what it has created the past year and stripping everything bare, it seems that I am too.

I feel a sense of great freedom in shedding the stories of my past, to allow the present and make way for the future.
I guess there are many lessons to be learnt when we take time to witness the ebb and flow of nature, how can we hope to create new beginnings if we continue to hold onto the old?

What if trees held onto their leaves instead of letting go and allowing the change, allowing growth and new beginnings ?

Autumn is a time to go within, to examine what is working, to look at our attitudes towards others and especially ourselves, it is a time to resolve the old and finally let it go, breathe in fresh experiences, create new memories and rejoice in the process.

Take some time to sit in nature if you can under a beautiful big old tree thats losing its leaves and take a moment to connect with what you need to let go of this Autumn.

My Son Zali, contemplating the world.

What have you been carrying that you need to say goodbye to ?
What do you need to resolve ?

I find that a 15 minute meditation  is a lovely way to lead into this exercise.

Take a notebook and write a list of everything you think you need to let go of, write until you can't think of anything more. This is your chance.

Once you have your list, read it back to yourself one by one, start the sentence with;
I let go of .................................................. this attachment no longer serves me and declare that it is gone.

Once you have declared your list, take it home and ceremoniously burnt it to a crisp or rip it up into tiny pieces and dispose of it in the closest bin leaving it well and truly behind as you leave.

Notice how you feel, What does it bring up?

Remember to breathe in the Autumnal air and to allow the lightness of not carrying these burdens be your strength.

This is a fabulous start, have fun with it, be brave, be bold and let it go !!!

Aromatherapy oils are a great way to assist with change. These olils are particulary great for  acceptance, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Geranium and Neroli.

If you are looking for some further assistance in the process then Kinesiology is another amazing way to combat any blockages that your body is having.

Kinesiology is a way of measuring imbalances and stress that we hold in our muscles and a therapist can pinpoint exactly where we are holding stress and why, what it is connected to and release it through certain techniques to assist the body's natural healing process.

If you are interested in a Kinesiology treatment then contact my beautiful practitioner & friend Vraja Henderson. She is absolutely beautiful and you will love every minute of it.

Send any feedback about what you 're up to, would love to hear. Take care

My Great Granny used it, My Grandmother used it, My mother still uses it and now I use it.
Since I was little I have seen these distinctive little bottles adorn the dressing tables of the women that went before me.

My Son Zali has been home sick with a temperature and what magic little bottle did my mum pull out to fix it.
